Overview
The platform provides Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) that allows for granular segregation of platform duties to address compliance and security requirements by user roles. The user accounts and passwords are managed from Settings > Users. Only users with the role of Account Admin (Owner) have the privileges to set up other Account Admins and users.
Note: Partners’ access to the Marketplace is discontinued as part of this release. Going forward, partners on behalf of their customers will manage assets through the Admin Console under the Customers module. This has significantly simplified and enhanced the customer management experience in StreamOne Ion.
The following table describes the access information for the current user roles.
User Role | Access details |
Account Admin (Owner) | Admin role with full access to all features and functions of the platform. |
User | Existing role: this is locked, so no new users can be added to this role. |
Sales | Access to modules required for sales transactions such as Dashboards, Reports (no option to Generate Invoices), Partners, Customers, Support and Launch Marketplace. |
Ops | Access to all modules except the permission to manage users. |
Note: Role Based Access Control (RBAC) includes three pre-defined roles that apply to all persona users in StreamOne Ion. The User role is retained until further notice. Eventually, all user roles will be moved to a more specific role, according to the day-to-day tasks. With RBAC all existing users will retain their Account Owner or User roles unless their roles are updated.
